How does a virtual race work?
You register for one of the races, complete the distance at anytime and anywhere, and then if you wish to be part of the results you can upload your finish time.
What is a virtual race?
A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from anywhere at anytime. If you can't get it done outside you can do it on a treadmill! It can be done at your own pace!
How do I sign up for a virtual race?
To sign up for your virtual race click the "Race Registration" at the top of the page and then click the "here." It will then bring you to the registration website.
How much does it cost to sign up?
To register for Race To Flatten The Curve it will be $10 and at least 20% of the proceeds (I hope to give even more depending on how many registants I get) goes to the Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses.
Do I have to submit a result?
Only if you want to! We would encourage you to do so to have the full "race" experience. However, being part of the results on the website is completely up to you! We will be awarding the top three males and top three females in each race and so if you would like to compete in those categories you would definitely want to submit your results.
Can I sign up for more than one race?
Absolutely! We would encourage you to sign up for numerous races. You can even sign up for the same race a multiple times if you wish. Want to challenge yourself and better the time you got on your first try at a distance? Sign up for the same again! Want to compete at multiple distances? Sign up for any and all distances you wish!
What do I get with my registration?
When you register you will receive a race bib in the mail. This number can not only be used to submit your results but also can be used to dedicate your walk/run to your favorite nurse or nursing organization. We also plan to have some race giveaways for those posting a picture of the bib. Last but not least, put your bib on display and be proud of your accomplishments!
You will also get the satisfaction of knowing that you help contribute to the Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses with each registration!
